Violence within the home is not acceptable and is not something that you or your children should be subjected to.
At msl, we can help you can put a stop to family violence by applying to the Magistrates Court of Queensland for a Protection Order. A Protection Order is an Order of the Court that prohibits your partner and associated persons from committing any act of domestic or family violence against you, and any other named person on the Order. This Protection Order can be enforced by the Queensland Police.
You have been subjected to domestic or family violence if, any of the following has occurred, your partner has: - Injured you; - Verbally and emotionally abused you; - Damaged your property; - Intimidated or harassed you; - Treated you indecently, without your consent; or - Threatened to do any of these things.
The msl family law team has the legal expertise and social science background to help you and your children obtain a Protection Order to ensure your ongoing safety and wellbeing. msl has several alliances with community organisations and can refer you to services and counselling that will provide you with emotional support during this stressful time in your life.
